Jesus made promises, and staked everything on keeping them. Rest for the weary. I am with you always. In my Father's house are many mansions. I give unto them eternal life. Each promise below is a saying of Jesus himself, quoted from the King James Version and cited, distinct from the many other promises found elsewhere in Scripture.

I am with you always
“and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 28:20
His closing words in Matthew, joined to the Great Commission. His presence, not our strength, is the promise.
A place in the Father's house
“In my Father's house are many mansions... I go to prepare a place for you... I will come again, and receive you unto myself.”
John 14:2-3
Spoken to comfort his disciples before the cross. Heaven, he says, is a home being made ready.
Another Comforter
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.”

What this shows about Jesus
A promise is only as good as the one who makes it. Jesus backs his promises with his own life, death, and resurrection. He is not offering easy comfort but a sure hope, sealed by the fact that he rose. What he pledged, he keeps.
