The Bread of the Bible: From the Manna to the Bread of Life

Bread runs through the whole Bible like a thread, and it is not an accident. God rains manna in the wilderness. He commands bread kept fresh in his presence. He sends his Son to Bethlehem, whose name means the house of bread, and lays him in a manger, a feeding trough. That Son feeds thousands on a hillside, calls himself the bread of life, breaks bread and says this is my body, and is finally known by two heartbroken travelers in the breaking of bread. Each page below follows one bread through Scripture, tells honestly where its meaning is stated and where it is drawn out by later readers, and shows how the whole thread leads to Jesus, the true bread come down from heaven.
