How this connects to Jesus

This is one of the most beloved lines in the Dhammapada: hatred is never ended by hatred, but only by love. Jesus said the same in his own words, love your enemies and bless those who curse you (Matthew 5:44), and do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). A rare and beautiful meeting of two traditions on the power of love over hate.
