The savior to come is given a name, Astvat-ereta, who shall rise up a friend of Ahura Mazda, bearing the victorious knowledge, and deliver the whole living world to immortality. The Gospel proclaims that the world’s benefactor has a name and a face in history: Jesus of Nazareth, born to save his people (Matthew 1:21), risen and coming again.
