Matthew Chapter 28, Explained
Matthew 28 is the triumphant final chapter of the Gospel. Early on the first day of the week, the women come to the tomb and find it empty. An angel tells them what still echoes through the world: He is not here, for He is risen, as He said. The crucified Jesus is alive, and their fear turns to great joy.
The chapter ends on a mountain, where the risen Jesus meets His disciples and gives them their mission. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him, so they are to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them. And He seals it with a promise: I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
