Christianity has a long, rigorous intellectual tradition and has shaped philosophy, science, law, and ethics for two thousand years. Jesus told people to love God with all their mind, not to switch it off. Faith here is not the enemy of thought; at its best it is thought pressed all the way to its deepest questions.

Is Christianity anti-intellectual?

No. Christianity has a deep intellectual tradition, shaping philosophy, science, and ethics for centuries. Jesus commanded loving God 'with all thy mind' (Matthew 22:37), and Paul reasoned with philosophers on their own terms (Acts 17). Rigorous thought is welcome.

Do smart people believe in Jesus?

Many thoughtful philosophers, scientists, and scholars have and do. Intelligence points in many directions, so this is not proof of anything, but faith and serious intellect have never been mutually exclusive.
