Is Christianity Only for One Culture?

It began in the Middle East, among people who were not European, and from the start it was meant for every nation and language. Today most Christians live in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Whoever you are and wherever you are from, there is a place for you, and following Jesus does not require you to abandon who you are.

It was never one culture’s religion

Sometimes people assume Christianity belongs to one culture, often a Western one, and that to come to Jesus you would have to become foreign to your own people. That is a misunderstanding. Jesus was a Middle Eastern man, not a European one, and his first followers were Jewish. The faith spread outward in every direction from the very beginning.

You do not have to leave your language, your food, your music, or your people to follow Jesus. He meets each nation as itself. You can see the body of Christ around the world and find that it already includes people very much like you.

Come and see who Jesus is
