I'm Not Ready to Follow Jesus

If you are not ready to follow Jesus, that is completely okay. Not yet is an honest and welcome answer, and nobody here is going to pressure you, guilt you, or rush you. Faith that is pushed is not really faith. You are free to keep exploring for as long as you like, ask hard questions, and read the sources for yourself. The door stays open.

Not yet is a real answer

You will not be pressured here. A decision squeezed out of someone by fear or urgency is not worth much, and it is not what Jesus asked for. He invited people to come and see, and let them take their time. So can you.

Come and see is an invitation to look, not a demand to decide. There is no clock running.

Good ways to keep exploring

• Read the sources. The Gospel of John lets you meet Jesus in his own words, without a middleman.
• Ask the honest questions. Did he really live? Rise? What did he actually claim? Look into them.
• Watch, unhurried. Notice what his life and teaching stir in you, and give it time.

You do not owe anyone a decision, and you certainly do not owe anyone a public announcement. Explore freely. If a day comes when you want to take a step, it will be there. If it does not, you are still welcome here.

Yes, completely. Not yet is an honest and welcome answer. Faith that is pressured or rushed is not real faith. Jesus invited people to come and see (John 1:39) and let them take their time, and so can you.

Will anyone pressure me to decide?

No. There is no countdown, no guilt, and no forced announcement. You are free to keep exploring at your own pace for as long as you like. The door stays open either way.

How can I keep exploring without committing?

Read the Gospel of John to meet Jesus in his own words, look honestly into the historical questions, and simply notice what it stirs in you. Exploring asks nothing of you but curiosity.
