For Christian Counselors

Christian counselors help people carry burdens too heavy to bear alone. The Living Bread would love to help people find real care, while keeping a clear line between pastoral or lay care and licensed clinical mental health treatment. We are early, so this is an honest invitation to talk, not a claim of a live referral network already running.

The opportunity, as we see it

People searching in pain need somewhere trustworthy to turn. We hope a Christ-centered platform can help people find prayer, community, and, where it is needed, real care. We hold in high regard both the pastor or lay caregiver who walks alongside and the licensed clinician who provides treatment, and we want to honour the difference between them.

“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
Galatians 6:2
“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
Proverbs 11:14

Pastoral care and licensed clinical care are not the same

We are careful about this. Prayer, discipleship, encouragement, and spiritual counsel from a pastor or trained lay caregiver are precious, but they are not a substitute for licensed clinical mental health treatment. Some struggles need a professional: a licensed counselor, therapist, psychologist, or physician. In a crisis, people should contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away. A Christ-centered platform should point people to the right kind of help, not blur these lines.

How it could work, and how to begin

We are not running a referral service, a directory of providers, or any live clinical integration today, and we would not present pastoral support as clinical treatment or the reverse. We are inviting a careful conversation about how to help people find the care they actually need, honestly labeled. The first step is to reach out.

Frequently asked questions

Does The Living Bread provide counseling or therapy?
No. The Living Bread does not provide counseling, therapy, or clinical treatment, and this page does not offer any. Pastoral and lay spiritual care are precious but are not a substitute for licensed clinical mental health care. In a crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line.
What is the difference between pastoral care and clinical care?
Pastoral or lay care means prayer, discipleship, encouragement, and spiritual counsel from a pastor or trained caregiver. Licensed clinical care means treatment from a credentialed professional such as a therapist, psychologist, or physician. Both matter, and they are not interchangeable. Some needs require a licensed professional.
Is there a live referral network already?
No. We are early and invitation-stage. This page is an honest invitation to explore how to help people find the right care, clearly labeled, not a description of a referral network that exists today.

Let us build together

We are one body of many members, and no one part carries the Kingdom alone. Whatever you make for those who help carry heavy burdens, it is part of the same work: helping people find Christ and one another. This page is an invitation, not a contract, and we would rather begin honestly than promise more than we can yet give. If any of this stirs something in you, we would be glad to hear from you.
