Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, Explained
Ecclesiastes 3 opens with the famous poem that says there is a season for everything under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to keep silence and a time to speak. Life moves in rhythms we do not control, and the Preacher wants us to feel that honestly.
But the chapter does not leave us adrift. God has made everything beautiful in its time, and He has set eternity in the human heart, which is why nothing under the sun ever fully satisfies us. We were made for more than the passing seasons, and the right response is to receive each day as a gift from His hand.
