Aren't science and religion at war?

Doesn't explaining how something works remove the need for God?

Christianity has never asked you to choose between honest science and God. It claims that the same God who ordered the cosmos stepped into it as a person in Jesus. You can follow the evidence wherever it leads in the lab and still find that the biggest questions point beyond it, toward him.
