How Do I Count My Blessings?

Count your blessings, name them one by one.

In short

Count your blessings by naming them, deliberately, one at a time. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father." When you name them one by one, it will surprise you what the Lord has done, and gratitude will crowd out the fear.

What the Scriptures say

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

James 1:17 (KJV)

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Psalm 103:2 (KJV)

Why keep it at all

When you are discouraged, the old hymn says, count your many blessings, name them one by one. Vague thankfulness fades; named, written blessings stay. Every good gift comes down from the Father of lights, and He does not change.

Begin now, quietly

Name a blessing you can see right now

A quiet record, kept only on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere. Seen, as Jesus said, by your Father who sees in secret.

This lives on your device alone. Inside The Living Bread your Witness is yours across all your devices, private by default, never a score. Open your Witness.

Carry it further

The record above stays on this device. Inside The Living Bread it becomes your Witness: private by default, kept across your devices, and a way to carry others toward Christ too.

Keep walking

The Living Bread. Your Witness is yours alone, never a public score. Scripture: Authorized (King James) Version, public domain.
