Yes, there is a full place for you with Jesus in your later years, and God does not set the elderly aside. Age can bring loss and slowing, and the quiet worry of being forgotten. Scripture says the opposite: God carries his people to the very end and keeps them fruitful. When Jesus was a baby, it was two elderly saints, Simeon and Anna, who recognised and welcomed him.

The later years hold a hard-won wisdom, and real losses too: strength that fades, friends who are gone, a world that can make you feel invisible or set aside. You may wonder whether you still matter, whether God still has a purpose for someone in your season. He does, and Scripture says so plainly.

When the infant Jesus was brought to the temple, it was two elderly believers who had waited faithfully for years who saw who he was. Simeon had been promised he would not die before he saw the Lord’s Christ.
God promises never to abandon his people as they age, but to carry them all the way home.

- Does God still have a purpose for me in old age?
- Yes. Scripture shows God carrying and using the elderly. Aged Simeon and Anna were the ones who recognized the infant Jesus (Luke 2). God promises to carry his people even to old age (Isaiah 46:4). Your prayers and witness matter greatly.
- Is it too late to come to Jesus when I am old?
- No. It is never too late. Jesus welcomes all who come to him, at any age. The elderly Simeon waited a lifetime and was not forgotten (Luke 2:29-30); God's welcome does not expire.
