Grief does not follow a schedule, and there is no wrong way to miss someone. These verses sit gently with the sorrow, without rushing it, and point to the God who is nearest to the grieving.

Christian hope does not ask you to pretend the loss is small or to hurry your tears. It offers something stronger than pretending: a God who wept at a friend's grave and then called him out of it. Because Jesus rose, death is not a full stop for those who are His but a doorway, and the goodbye is not forever. You are allowed to grieve deeply and to hope deeply at the same time, held all the while by the God of all comfort.
