A Bible reading plan for
The New Testament in 30 Days
30 days, about 9 chapters a day
For a focused, immersive month, this plan carries you through the entire New Testament in thirty days, about nine chapters a day. It is a real commitment, roughly half an hour of reading, and it gives a rare reward: the whole story of Jesus and the early church held together in one continuous sweep, still fresh in your mind from beginning to end.
“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”John 20:31 (KJV)
The plan, day by day
Days 1-5
The Gospel of Matthew and into Mark: the life, teaching, death, and resurrection of Jesus (about 9 chapters a day through Matthew 28 and Mark).
Days 6-9
Finish Mark and read Luke: the same story from two more witnesses, rich in compassion and detail.
Days 10-13
The Gospel of John and the book of Acts begin: I am the way, and the Spirit poured out on the church.
Days 14-17
Acts and into Paul's letters: the gospel spreads to the nations, and Romans unfolds the heart of it.
Days 18-22
Paul's letters, Romans through Colossians: how to understand and live the new life in Christ.
Days 23-26
The rest of Paul's letters and Hebrews: encouragement, doctrine, and the supremacy of Christ.
Days 27-29
The general letters, James through Jude: faith that works, hope that holds, love that endures.
Day 30
Revelation's close: the risen Christ reigns, and God makes all things new. The whole New Testament in one month.
A reading plan is a servant, not a master. If you miss days there is no guilt here and no scorecard in heaven. Simply begin again where you left off. The goal was never to finish a list but to meet the One these words are about, Jesus, who is glad to be found by you today.
Where this plan is leading
The whole New Testament exists to reveal Jesus and what His coming means: the Gospels present Him, Acts spreads the news of Him, the letters explain Him, and Revelation completes His story. Read it in a month and the risen Christ stands at the center of it all. Come to the end of thirty days not merely having read it, but knowing Him better than when you began.

How many chapters a day to read the New Testament in a month?
About nine chapters a day. The New Testament has 260 chapters, so thirty days works out to roughly nine daily, around thirty minutes of reading. It is intense but doable for a focused month.
Is 30 days too fast to read the New Testament?
It is fast and meant to be, an immersive read for a focused season rather than every month. The reward is seeing the whole story of Jesus and the early church hold together while it stays fresh. If nine chapters a day is too much, the New Testament in a season plan reads it more gently over about three months.
What order does this plan follow?
It follows the New Testament's own order: the four Gospels, then Acts, then Paul's letters from Romans onward, then the general letters, and finally Revelation. Reading straight through in this order needs nothing but a bookmark and lets the story build naturally.
