I Lost My Job
Losing a job is not only a financial blow; it hits your sense of who you are, your standing, your rhythm, sometimes your dignity. If it just happened to you, you may be swinging between panic about the bills and a quieter grief over the loss itself. Both are real, and neither means you have failed or that God has abandoned you. A lost job is a hard providence, not a verdict on your worth. Your value was never your paycheck, and it is not gone now. Let us be honest about the fear

Where provision actually comes from

Take therefore no thought for the morrow, Jesus said, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. He was not dismissing your fear; He was redirecting it toward a Father who knows what you need before you ask. That is the ground under a lost job: not a guarantee of ease, but a Father who goes before you and will not let go. Is it a lack of faith to feel this anxious?
No. Anxiety in a real crisis is human, not a spiritual failure. Jesus told anxious people not to be consumed by tomorrow precisely because He knew how strong that pull is. Faith is not the absence of fear; it is bringing the fear to God again and again and choosing to trust Him inside it. Be gentle with yourself, and keep turning to Him.
