What 2 Corinthians 1:3 means
The Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation. God is named here by what he does in our sorrow: he comforts. And he comforts us in the trouble, not only after it, so that later we can carry that same comfort to others walking through their own.
