What is Pentecost?
Pentecost, fifty days after Easter, celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit on the first believers, when the church was born and the good news went out in every language. It is the birthday of the church and the promise that God dwells with and empowers his people.

How it is observed
It is celebrated with joy, often in red, remembering the fire of the Spirit and the mission it began.
Also called Whitsunday in some traditions; observed fifty days after Easter.
