What is All Saints' Day?

All Saints' Day honors the whole family of God across the ages, the great multitude no one can number, gathered from every nation before the throne. It is a day of gratitude for those who have gone before in faith, and of hope that we are joined to them in Christ.

In the Word

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;Revelation 7:9 (KJV)

How it is observed

It is kept on November 1 with thanksgiving for the saints and remembrance of the faithful departed.

Observed on November 1; some traditions keep All Souls on November 2.
