What Does the Bible Say About Cremation?

The Bible does not command a specific method for handling the body after death, and it records both burial and, in some cases, the burning of remains, without laying down a rule for believers. Because our hope rests on resurrection by God's power, not on the state of our remains, cremation is widely regarded as a matter of conscience and culture rather than sin.

Our resurrection hope does not depend on our remains being intact; the God who made us from dust can raise us however we return to it.
