The Temple in the Bible

From a tent to a temple to Christ to us to the city where God dwells with His people, the temple is one of the great through-lines of Scripture. God built a house to dwell with His people; its glory filled it, it was lost and rebuilt, and Jesus called His own body the true temple. At the cross the veil was torn and the way to God opened; His Spirit made His people a temple; and the story ends in a city that needs no temple, for the Lord God and the Lamb are its temple.
