Goodness
Goodness is kindness with backbone, moral excellence that actually does good. Everywhere He went He healed the sick, fed the hungry, freed the tormented, and lifted the fallen, and He did it without seeking payment or applause. His goodness was not soft indulgence; it had a spine. He told hard truths to those who needed them, defended the vulnerable, and drove the money changers out of His Father's house when greed had turned worship into robbery. He was good in secret and good in public, blameless when His enemies searched for a charge and found none. Even His death was an act of goodness, laying down His life so that others might live. In Him you see goodness perfected, kindness and holiness joined, a life poured out entirely for the good of others.

Can I become good just by trying harder to do good things?
