Who was Saint Elizabeth of Hungary?
Saint Elizabeth of Hungary was a princess who, widowed young, gave herself entirely to the poor, baking bread and carrying it to the hungry despite the objections of the court. A beloved legend says the bread she smuggled out turned to roses when she was stopped.
