How to Find Your Calling
Your first and surest calling is not a career. In the Bible, you are called first to belong to God and to love people, and that calling holds no matter what job you do. Beyond that, a calling is usually found where your gifts, the needs around you, and honest work meet. Ordinary work, done for God, is a real calling.
If everyone else seems to have found theirs
The word ‘calling’ can make you feel behind, as though everyone else received a clear assignment and you were skipped. But much of that pressure comes from a modern idea that your job must be your identity and your grand mission. The Bible is far gentler, and far wider, about what counts as a calling.
The calling under all callings
Before the New Testament ever speaks of a task, it speaks of a belonging: you are called to be God’s own, and to love. That is the calling you already have, today, whatever your work.
And when it comes to daily work, the Bible dignifies all honest labour by aiming it at God rather than at status.
So a nurse, a builder, a parent at home, a cleaner, a coder, all of these can be full callings when done as unto the Lord. You do not need a stage or a title. A calling is often just your gifts meeting a real need, offered back to God.
list what you are decent at and where you see needs around you. The overlap is a good place to start serving, without needing to be certain it is your lifelong calling first.
