How do I know if God is real?

This is not a shameful question, and doubt is not the opposite of faith. Some of the most honest believers have asked it in the dark. It is a fair question, and it deserves more than a slogan.

Faith in God is not meant to be belief against the evidence. Many people find real reasons to take it seriously: that anything exists at all, that the universe is ordered enough to be understood, that we cannot shake the sense that love and justice are truly real and not just chemistry, that longing itself seems to point somewhere. None of these force belief, but together they make faith reasonable rather than blind.

The invitation is to look, not to pretend

The Bible never asks you to fake certainty. It invites honest seeking, and it makes a striking promise to those who actually seek.

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:13

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6

Many people find that God becomes most real not at the end of an argument but in the trying: in prayer offered honestly, in the words of Jesus read slowly, in the company of people who know Him. You can start with a prayer as raw as this one.
