Dia de la Candelaria (Candlemas)

La Candelaria remembers the day Mary and Joseph presented the infant Jesus in the temple, where old Simeon called him a light to lighten the nations. Forty days after Christmas, it is a feast of light and of the Christ child.
How it is celebrated
Families dress a figure of the Christ child and carry it to be blessed, and whoever found the figure in the Three Kings' bread hosts a gathering with tamales.
