Pascha is the crown of the Orthodox year, the celebration of the resurrection of Christ. It carries the deepest joy of the faith, that Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death.
How it is celebrated
At midnight the church goes dark, then the Holy Light is passed candle to candle as the people cry, Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Families break the Lenten fast with red eggs and roast lamb.
