Corpus Christi Processions

Spain, Italy, and Latin America · the Thursday after Trinity Sunday

Corpus Christi honors the body of Christ given in the last supper. For the traditions that keep it, it is a public celebration of thanksgiving for the presence of Christ with his people.

How it is celebrated

Processions move through streets often carpeted with flowers, and towns are decorated in celebration; observance varies across traditions.

In the Word

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.1 Corinthians 11:24 (KJV)
