Its place in the story

Philippi was the first city in Europe where Paul preached the gospel. There Lydia was converted, a slave girl was freed from a spirit, and Paul and Silas were imprisoned and freed by an earthquake, leading the jailer to faith. Paul later wrote the letter to the Philippians to this church.
