Its place in the story

The Jezreel Valley and the nearby city of Jezreel figure in the accounts of Gideon, Saul, Ahab, and Jehu. Naboth's vineyard lay in Jezreel, and Jezebel met her end there. Its plain around Megiddo was a frequent site of decisive battles.
