Revelation Chapter 21, Explained
Revelation 21 is where the whole Bible has been heading. John sees a new heaven and a new earth, and the holy city, a new Jerusalem, coming down from God. A loud voice announces that God will dwell with His people, and He Himself will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Then comes the promise that turns grief inside out: there will be no more death, no mourning, no crying, no pain, for the old order of things has passed away. God says, behold, I am making all things new. The city shines with the glory of God, needs no sun because the Lord is its light, and its gates are never shut, for nothing unclean and no darkness will ever enter again.
